Some STIs are bacterial and can be cured. Other infections are viral and can be managed.

How do you get an STI?

Understanding how STIs move helps you choose sexual health tools that work for you.

You can get an STI through:

  • vaginal sex

  • anal sex

  • oral sex

  • skin-to-skin contact

  • sharing sex toys

Many STIs do not cause symptoms or cause only mild symptoms. People can have an infection without knowing it.

Thats why its essential to get an STI test if youre enjoying sex.
